The Annual Edinburgh Festival

The Annual Edinburgh Festival is a comprehensive term for many festivals in one that are held throughout the entire month of August and into early September. Just about every artistic endeavor imaginable is presented during the festival in the most professional and dramatic performances seen anywhere in the world.

Opera, ballet, the symphony, visual arts and theater are included in so many events that the schedule must be printed in grid form. Every day of the month, there are numerous performances from which to choose, and it is a most desirable dilemma of having to choose what is to be seen and what must be missed. Most performances are given for three days in a row so that as many people as possible can see them.

Conductors, composers, dance masters, singers and musicians from the realm of the world’s stage come to the festival to present their inspired creations for the lucky festival-goers that manage to obtain tickets.

Cultural events of various kinds are scheduled here and there during the month of August for the Mela Festival. The Edinburgh Art Festival has over 40 exhibits as well as film screenings, family activities and special events over the whole month, too. Many art exhibits and events are free! The art festival draws about a quarter of a million visitors every year to museums, galleries, artist-managed locales, public art commissions and innovations.
